Job Description
- To ensure the successful execution of Engineering, New Product Development and Packaging Optimisation Projects within budget & time constraints, meeting Customer Quality requirements and Legal/Contractual requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Design technical solutions which are holistic, sustainable and deliver the best value to the Soft Drink business, and which are integrated fully into existing operations where relevant.
- Optimise the selected Capital Projects to ensure the best capital value.
- Prepare basic Business Cases for effective justification of selected Capital Projects.
- Manage the tender and solicitation of supply within the Company’s commercial requirements.
- Understand and review procurement contracts to manage the required supply to the Company.
- Deliver selected Manufacturing Capital Projects on time, within approved budgets and to required standards and specifications in order to realise business benefit.
- Supervise and manage the capital expenditure of projects within the Company’s financial requirements.
- Work with operational stakeholders in project teams to deliver effective projects.
- Interface with all relevant business and industry stakeholders in executing projects (Planning, Finance, NPD/Packaging, Manufacturing site teams, Centres of Excellence, suppliers, consultants) and maintain effective relationships to ensure continuity of delivery.
- Monitor and assimilate industry trends and technology developments to implement in capital projects and support Manufacturing sites; retain gained knowledge and experience through development of technical standards.
Skills, Experience & Education
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- BSc Engineering qualification in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 2-5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Specific beverage manufacturing and project environment experience an advantage.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Maintenance, design, construction and commissioning of FMCG Plant, Equipment and Buildings.
- Knowledge of current applicable legislation (QESH Stds. & Procedures) and Contract Law.
- Plant & process knowledge and strong general knowledge of all engineering disciplines e.g. Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Control and Automation.
- Financial Management, Presentation and Negotiation skills.
- Design and Draughting skills will be an advantage.
- People / inter-personal skills.
- Skilled in the use of the Microsoft Office package, SAP, and relevant Project Engineering packages.
