Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering , Qaulity Management of a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in quality assurance and process improvement, preferably in the steel industry.
  • Proven experience in managing quality assurance processes and driving process excellence in a large scale, complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge og quality management systems (QMS) and standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Proficiency in quality assurance methodologies, tools and techniques eg Six sigma, lean manaufacturing.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Quality Management System
  • Maintain ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Ensure ISO 9001 requirements are compiled to.
  • Collate and submit relevant reports and supporting documents as per industry norms.

Quality Assurance

  • Initiate plan, perform and coordinate internal and external quality audits. Submit audit reports with findings to the management team. Ensure corrective actions have been implemented.
  • Develop, implement, control and monitor all quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Report on the performance on the Quality Management System and recommend areas of improvement.
  • Raise relevant non-conformance reports (NCR’s) and ensure NCR’s are addressed adequately.
  • Investigate customer complaints and implement remedial actions where required.
  • Analyse trends and performances.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure specifications are enforced and irregularities are rectified timeously.
  • Ensure all non-conformances are identified and resolved.
  • Co-ordinate claims and ensure timely close-out and resolution

Technical

  • Evaluate testing requirements from customers.
  • Ensure all non-standard services or products are evaluated, captured, and approved or not approved and relevant feedback is provided to internal and/or external stakeholders.
  • Investigate product failures and recommend remedial actions.
  • Conduct customer visits to validate complaints of non-conforming products

Customer Quality Assurance

  • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address customer quality concerns.
  • Implement processes to capture and analyse customer feedback related to product quality.
  • Lead investigations and implement corrective actions for customer complaints.

Supplier Quality Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive improvements.
