Quality Controller needed at The Heineken Company

Key Performance Indicators would include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain comprehensive quality control / assurance programme for the Intrinsic & Extrinsic laboratory.
• Manage and coordinate the routine Laboratory activities
• Manage the Quality FTR of the Site.
• Manage test equipment to ensure on-time calibration and maintenance
• Maintains Supplier Management Program for the laboratory
• Responsible for Training of personnel on Quality Control measures and GLP principles
• Report all non-conforming issues intrinsically and extrinsically to the correct stakeholders
• Ensure a comprehensive and complaint Quality Management and Food Safety System is maintained by all personnel
• Maintain SANS 1841 Compliance and personnel training requirements
• Actively participates in internal and external Audits
• Assist with new products and or material implementation
• Plan all work through the Laboratory to ensure approvals are coordinated with production outputs.
• Manage and Maintain Lab Star System requirements in Laboratory environment
• Drive and execute Capex projects
• Maintain OPEX expenditure
• Lead participation in relevant TPM activities

The successful candidate must preferably have the following experience / skills

• Diploma/Degree in Food Technology; Microbiology or equivalent
• 1-3 years relevant experience in a Food and Beverage environment
• Sound knowledge of ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, ISO45001, ISO14001, HACCP, ISO 17025
• Computer literate with MS Excel, MS Office, Power Point, SAP, LIMS
• Strong numerical aptitude and analytical abilities are essential.
• Strong planning and organizing skills.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Have proven verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Must have transport to travel from and to work
• Must be able to work overtime from time to time when necessary
