R&D Chemist needed at Pollock & Associates

• A skilled R&D Chemist is required to join a growing innovation team focused on developing specialised consumer formulation technologies. You will contribute to the design, optimisation, and scale-up of complex formulated products used in high-performance consumer applications.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

• BSc Chemistry or relevant scientific degree, ideally supported by training in Consumer Product Formulation Science.
• 2–5 years’ hands-on formulation experience within consumer-formulated goods.
• Strong capability in developing, troubleshooting, and scaling varied formulation systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple development projects with precision and time management.
• Excellent reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Computer literacy essential.

Key Performance Areas

• Design, develop, and refine innovative formulation systems for consumer use.
• Research and assess alternative raw materials, functional actives, and new delivery systems technologies for safety, performance, sustainability, and regulatory alignment.
• Conduct lab-scale batch processing and optimise processes to ensure a successful transfer from R&D to production.
• Manage performance, stability, compatibility, and packaging interaction testing.
• Ensure all formulations meet internal quality standards, global regulatory expectations, and best-practice development protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of formulations, test results, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with Regulatory, QC, QA, Brand, and Manufacturing teams to support product readiness.
• Prepare technical summaries, key selling points, and evaluation reports for new and existing products.
• Stay informed of emerging advances in formulation science, material technologies, and regulatory landscapes.
