Minimum Requirements

  • Certificate in Ammonia Refrigeration, CAT B or CAT C & SARRACA registration
  • 5 years proven and verifiable experience in maintenance, compressor repairs and commissioning large refrigeration system.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overseeing, maintenance and repairs of Ammonia refrigeration compressors & heat exchangers.
  • Monitoring and maintenance and repair of Air Compressors
  • Responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of the condensers and the water softener system
  • Responsible for all the valve stations on the plant
  • Liaise with Management on prevention of reoccurrence of breakdowns.
  • Responsible for all the legal inspections and duties as outlined in the MHI regulations.
  • Responsible to carry out all the duties as specified by Ammonia Dispensation and report any irregularities to the manager.
  • Responsible to operate the machine according to SOPs and Health and safety procedures.
  • Assemble, install and/or repair relevant machinery.
  • Responsible for safety in and around refrigeration, workshop and refrigeration plant room.
  • Save and control electricity by effective running of NH3 compressors in line with category B Ammonia safe handling procedures.
