Summary of the Job duties: 

• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled safety inspections, ensuring safety equipment and procedures are followed.
• Report safety violations and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate safety and health complaints, and implement safety policies and guidelines.
• Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and support on project sites.
• Assist in coaching, mentoring, and implementing HSE programs in the workshop.
• Stay updated on safety legislation and assist in auditing the Safety Management System.
• Provide HSE guidance to project managers, supervisors, and team leaders.
• Ensure prompt incident reporting and participate in incident investigations.
• Ensure new employee inductions and required documentation are completed.
• Maintain safety boards and conduct monthly inspections.
• Prepare for and participate in audits like ISO 45001.
• Communicate safety expectations and comply with relevant regulations, including OHS ACT 85 of 1993.
• Perform other related duties as required

Profile

• Registered as SACPCMP
• Minimum 3 years of health and safety field experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• The ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessment to company operations and activities.
• Medical fit and in good physical condition.
• Availability to travel.
• Occupational Health and Safety Diploma or Certificate e.g. SAMTRAC / Nebosh.
