Purpose of Role
Oversees and manages the Allan Gray Makers selection process and the selection team to identify, attract and select the regions highest technical entrepreneurial talent relevant for Allan Gray Makers Programmes. Oversees and manages the creation of awareness of Allan Gray Makers opportunities that identify and attract quality applications, from relevant stakeholders. Builds and maintains key stakeholder relations to support collaborative partnerships.

Objectives of Role 

Programmes

  • Manage the planning and execution of Allan Gray Makers programme recruitment cycles.
  • Oversee selection programme success.
  • Manage and oversee the review and revision of selection process design.
  • Oversee application assessment shortlist, implementation of Entrepreneurial intention survey.
  • Oversee candidate’s psychometric assessments.
  • Manage & oversee the onboarding & enrolment of Candidates.
  • Identify, evaluate, prioritise and controls changes to projects.
  • Monitor progress of projects against overall programme plan and emerging current trends.
  • Implement project controls.
  • Manage the design and scheduling of regional recruitment plans based on programmes calendar.
  • Oversee and manage relevant selection systems and tools.
  • Asses and moderate application forms.
  • Conduct interviews with short-listed applicants.
  • Assess candidates at selection camps.
  • Manager & oversee activities at selection camps.
  • Recruit and select high calibre candidates for various programmes.
  • Ensure that selection tools are relevant and refined

Strategic Management

  • Develop & Execute Allan Gray Makers Selection & Recruitment strategy and how best to make it more impactful.
  • Review the analysis of previous recruitment success.
  • Conduct the review and revision of recruitment strategy.

Stakeholder Management

  • Establish and build relationships with related non-governmental organisations and relevant departments of government.
  • Focus on improving the quality of relationships with recruitment partners and with strategic partners.
  • Meet regularly with key stakeholders at TVET’s and in business/industry.
  • Maintain and enhance internal stakeholder relations.
  • Ensure that a stakeholder communication feedback loop is established and implemented.
  • Implement awareness campaigns at relevant Expos.
  • Establish major recruitment relationships of interest to Allan Gray Makers within the entrepreneurship Incubator/Accelerator sector.
  • Liaise with relevant recruitment partners on campaigns to be implemented

Team Management

  • Manage Talent performance.
  • Conducts performance reviews coaches, trains, and mentors’ talent.
  • Manage the training and development of direct reports.
  • Develop a challenging and rewarding working environment.
  • Select, assign and lead/manage Talent.
  • Arrange and lead team progress meetings.

Anaylsis & Reporting

  • Collate and analyse relevant information and prepare quarterly and annual reports.
  • Collate and analyse relevant information and compiles quarterly and annual reports.
  • Compile and submit reports to Programme Director and other stakeholders.

Annual Budget / Financial Management

  • Develop annual operational plans and budgets in line with programme objectives.
  • Manage costs against approved budget.
  • Compile budget report-backs.
  • Investigates methods to reduce/contain costs.
  • Ensure that financial forecasts for the programme are developed and maintained

Experience and Qualifications
Minimum qualification & experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • 5 years relevant experience

Preferred qualification & experience:

  • Development Studies, Entrepreneurship, Curriculum Development, or another relevant field.
  • Management Experience.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Experience within the entrepreneurship space is advantageous.
  • Extensive travel.
  • Extended hours and weekend work – when required.
  • Johannesburg based is an essential.
