The role
- A position for a Senior Accountant exists in Santam Structured Insurance (Pty) Ltd – Risk Finance Division), based at our Alice Lane (Johannesburg) office.

Accounting
- Prepare/oversee the divisional trial balance
- Prepare monthly technical accounts for the division
- Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations
- Oversee commission calculations & statements
- Maintain data integrity on RAIN and Risk Manager
- Prepare the IFRS17 data and accounts
Policy Management
- Oversee and authorize & issue policy documents (Renewals, endorsements, claims, cancellations, referrer agreements)
- Complete and accurate record keeping of client files (electronic copy)
- Oversee and responses to client queries and information requests
- Prepare end sending of monthly invoices
Loan Management
- Prepare and oversee, loan documents.
- Complete and accurate record keeping of client files (electronic & hard copy)
- Prepare and send monthly client loan statements
General administration
- Assist portfolio managers with general policy administration tasks (renewals, endorsements claims cancellations etc.)
- Ensure all filing (electronic & hardcopy) is done accurately & timeously
TCF/Customer Service & Retention
- Keep to customer service standards including turnaround times.
- Fully buy-in to the TCF principles and attend TCF training
- Familiarise themself with the content of TCF guidelines and implement the required processes and procedures within their own area of control.
- Identify failings in control systems and correct if within own area of control or escalate.
- Detect poor performance, lack of skills or misconduct and correct if within own area of control or escalate.
- Track own success and that of the Company’s TCF delivery, or risks to TCF delivery.
- Use learnings from complaints analysis to effect meaningful improvements for customers and the business.
- Potential complainants must not face unreasonable barriers to making a complaint.
Qualification and Experience
- CA (SA) is preferred
- B.Com Honours (accounting) is essential
- 1-2 years relevant work experience post qualification
- Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (word, excel, outlook)
- Email and Telephone Etiquette
