Senior Analytics Engineer needed at Lulalend

OVERALL PURPOSE

• We’re looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our data team. You will be a technical leader, focused on building a reliable, governed, and high-impact dbt analytics layer.
• As a member of the Data team, your primary focus will be to combine raw information from different sources to create consistent and consumption-ready formats. More specifically, you will need to construct and test architectures that enable data extraction and transformation for predictive or prescriptive modelling.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design new and own the end-to-end analytics layer and establish data governance standards (data tests, data quality and semantic layers).
• Define and enforce high modeling standards and best practices for dbt and source control workflows.
• Convert complex, ambiguous business challenges into clear, actionable metrics and models.
• Partner with business stakeholders to align data delivery with strategic objectives and present technical work clearly.
• Coach and guide intermediate engineers, actively shaping the team’s technical roadmap.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years in Analytics/Data Engineering.
• Expertise in dbt and advanced SQL.
• Expert experience with one modern cloud warehouse (e.g., Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift).
• Experience with an orchestrator (e.g., Apache Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect) for managing dependencies outside of dbt.
• Expert in BI tool administration and semantic layer design (e.g., LookML).
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing data contracts and semantic layers.
• A track record of high-impact, business-aligned data solutions.
• Proven ability to lead projects, manage stakeholder expectations, and mentor team members.
• Experience with system design – keeping performance and efficiency in mind, whilst aware of trade-offs.
• Prior experience or a strong interest in the FinTech space.
