Job Role:

  • We are seeking a dynamic and commercially savvy Senior Business Development Consultant to drive growth and partnerships across retail and fintech channels.
  • This mid-level role is ideal for a self-starter with experience selling payment technologies, loyalty solutions, or digital value-added services into formal and informal retail environments.
  • You’ll be responsible for identifying and securing new opportunities, managing key accounts, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure successful delivery of solutions that meet client needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, engage, and close partnership deals with retailers, brands, technology providers, and independent merchants.
  • Promote and position our value-added services including:
  • API-integrated solutions
  • Non-integrated terminals and POS devices
  • Voucher, Loyalty & rewards and Cash Out Solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal product and tech teams to scope and execute integrations or deployments.
  • Drive adoption and utilization of our solutions post-onboarding, ensuring customer satisfaction and revenue retention.
  • Develop proposals, presentations, and commercial models tailored to client needs.
  • Build a strong pipeline and report on sales performance, forecasts, and market trends.
  • Stay abreast of market shifts, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, account management, or partnerships within fintech, payments, or retail technology.
  • Knowledge of South African fintech landscapes.
  • Existing network in retail, payments, or merchant acquiring.

Required Knowledge / Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of digital payments, APIs, POS terminals, and/or loyalty platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in B2B sales cycles and commercial negotiations.
  • Comfortable engaging C-level stakeholders, technical teams, and operational leads.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and deal structuring abilities.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and pipeline management.
