Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the company’s needs and objectives
- Source new suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and suitability
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and terms
- Manage supplier relationships and drive supplier performance improvements
- Monitor market trends and developments to ensure the company remains competitive
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing requirements and provide guidance on procurement best practices
- Oversee the purchasing process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services
- Develop and implement KPIs to measure and track procurement performance
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the purchasing team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 2 years in a senior buying role
- Experience in the plastics and/or packaging industry
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and sourcing strategies
- Excellent negotiation skills and a proven track record of achieving cost savings and value-add from supplier contracts
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using procurement software and tools
- CIPS certification is a plus
