Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the company’s needs and objectives
  • Source new suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and suitability
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and terms
  • Manage supplier relationships and drive supplier performance improvements
  • Monitor market trends and developments to ensure the company remains competitive
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing requirements and provide guidance on procurement best practices
  • Oversee the purchasing process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services
  • Develop and implement KPIs to measure and track procurement performance
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the purchasing team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 2 years in a senior buying role
  • Experience in the plastics and/or packaging industry
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and sourcing strategies
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a proven track record of achieving cost savings and value-add from supplier contracts
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools
  • CIPS certification is a plus
