Generic Requirements:
- Applicant must display competency in the post-specific functions of the post;
- Be in possession of a Senior Certificate (Grade 12);
- proficient in at least two official languages, of which one must be English;
- Must be a SA citizen;
- Must have no criminal record or pending criminal/ department cases;

- Interpersonal, communication and Organizational Skills.

- Applicants must be willing to travel extensively;
- Relevant courses in the field of the post may be an advantage

- Successful candidate must be willing to travel and attend courses when required.
Additional Requirements:
- Three (3) year qualification in one of the following fields of study: Religious Studies; Theology; Counselling or related disciplines (accredited by SAQA on NQF level 6 or higher) with three (3) years extensive proven post-initiation experience as a minister of religion.
- Proof of Academic Record of qualification/s from a recognized institution (SAQA accredited – NQF level 6).
Religious credentials:
- Proof of a valid recognised Initiation certificate as priest or spiritual leader (i.e. minister of religion).
- Applicant must submit proof of a valid good standing certificate issued by the current local temple/ Hindu religious organisation.
- Proof of recognition from relevant Hindu religious oversight body.
Inherent competencies:
- Must have strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, group facilitation and presentation abilities, conflict resolution and problem-solving expertise, report writing and documentation proficiency. Proficiency in MS Office, experience with virtual service delivery platforms and programme development and evaluation skills will be advantageous.
Core Functions:
- Lead spiritual interventions across SAPS Divisions.
- Develop and implement professional spiritual support programmes to SAPS employees
- Provide spiritual care and guidance to SAPS employees and families.
- Create spiritual wellness initiatives.
- Establish and maintain religious support networks.
- Design and deliver proactive wellness programmes.
- Implement multi-disciplinary health and wellness interventions
- Develop and maintain Spiritual Services protocols.
- Provide Expert guidance on Hindu religious matters
- Facilitate interfaith understanding and cooperation.
