Senior Data Engineer needed at Salt South Africa

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using AWS and Python.
• Develop and manage SQL-based data transformations and queries.
• Create and manage data visualizations and dashboards to support business insights.
• Work with data warehouses to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Collaborate with software developers and data scientists to integrate machine learning models and ensure data integrity.
• Utilize C# and Node.js for backend development as needed.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of data engineering practices and tools.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
• Proficiency in AWS, Python, SQL, and data visualization tools.
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data warehousing solutions.
• Familiarity with C# and Node.js.
• Knowledge of machine learning principles and their application in data engineering.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with modern data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
