Senior Disaster Management Information and Communication Officer needed at North West Department: Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs

Job Purpose:

• To monitor implementation of integrated information management and disaster emergency communication systems.

Requirements:

• Matric Certificate
• Diploma/Degree (NQF Level 6) in Information Communication Technology/ Computer Science/ Information Systems/Computer Engineering/Geographic Information Systems as recognised by SAQA
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience as Disaster Management Information Communication Officer/Information Technology and Communication Technician
• A valid driver’s license.

Duties:

• Maintain disaster management reporting systems
• Analyse provision of early warnings on detected disaster hazards
•  Maintain Provincial Disaster Information Resources 
• Review implementation of disaster response and recovery operations plans
• Maintain implementation of municipal disaster management information system
