Senior Expert Innovation, Application & Formulation Nutrition Improvement needed at DSM-Firmenich

• As Senior Expert Innovation, Application & Formulation Nutrition Improvement, you are the regional technical expert on advancing fortified, accessible and effective nutrition solutions. You will turn customer needs into sound formulations and guide innovation from concept to implementation. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver science based solutions that improve nutrition for vulnerable populations. 

Your key responsibilities 

• Working closely with our customers, converting their briefs to technically sound nutritional premix solutions that meet their operational, technical and business needs.  
• Act as the technical point of contact for Nutrition Improvement across EMEA and have cross-segment responsibility for a defined sub-region within EMEA, acting as the unified technical contact for that area.  
• Guide the development of our solutions toolbox; from advancing powder technology in our nutritional ingredients premix site in Isando, to steering our new product development from concept to implementation.  
• Support commercialization of new solutions in close collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Operations.  
• Provide technical support and training, coaching indirect reports and promoting best practices.  
• Coordinate cross-functional priorities to ensure consistent technical quality and strengthen visibility of our differentiated solutions.

You bring 

• University degree in Human Nutrition, Food Technology, or a related field 
• Proven experience in the food or human nutrition industry, ideally with a focus on premix formulation and nutrition improvement.  
• Experience working with international development or humanitarian organizations, and an ability to operate with agility in fast-moving, resource-constrained contexts. 
• Deep technical knowledge of nutritional ingredients and fortification requirements, including vitamins and minerals for large-scale impact.  
• Ability to translate customer needs into compliant, commercially relevant formulations, balancing science and business priorities.  
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working effectively with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Regulatory, and Quality teams.  
• Project management and prioritization capabilities, including planning, risk assessment, and structured execution.  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with proficiency in English (Russian is a plus) and experience in multicultural environments.
