Key Responsibilities
Bonds & Money Market Fund Administration
- Manage the full trade lifecycle for bonds and money market instruments, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
- Execute confirmation and settlement instructions, working closely with custodians, counterparties, and fund managers.
- Perform daily reconciliations related to cash, positions, valuations, and trade confirmations.
- Monitor interest accruals, coupon payments, and maturities to ensure proper fund accounting and reporting.
- Address and resolve client and counterparty queries efficiently, maintaining high service standards.
- Assist in escalation, drafting, and reviewing incident reports, ensuring timely documentation of issues.
- Support audit processes and regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
- Assist in preparation of reports reports on fund performance, cash flows, and other key metrics to senior management.
Reporting & Analysis
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., SEC, UCITS) and industry standards related to bonds and money market funds.
- Ensure all trade deadlines are met, escalating potential risks or operational disruptions proactively.
- Maintain strict compliance with regulatory frameworks governing bonds and money market transactions.
- Ensure ongoing development and updates to procedures, aligning with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Investor Relations
- Act as the primary point of contact for investors, addressing queries and providing timely updates.
- Manage investor onboarding, subscription, and redemption processes, and maintain investor records.
- Provide detailed reports and insights to investors on the performance of bonds and money market funds.
- Work closely with risk, compliance, legal, and investment teams to mitigate operational risks and maintain process integrity.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient trade execution, settlement, and reporting.
Process Improvement & Ad-Hoc Tasks
- Identify and assist in driving process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risks.
- Assist with ad-hoc accounting and reporting requests from clients and management.
- Support system enhancements and automation efforts to streamline trade processing and reconciliation.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- 3+ years experience in financial services (investment management) industry
- Diploma or course in SA Financial Market Instruments will be an advantage
- Previous trade cycle experience in Unit Trusts and the Unitised trading process would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in financial systems, trade platforms, and data management tools.
- Strong knowledge of bonds, money market instruments, and settlement processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel.
