Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to join a dynamic manufacturing team. This key position will focus on optimizing production processes, enhancing efficiency, and improving overall productivity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial engineering, including expertise in calculating Standard Minutes (SM), process optimization, and streamlining workflows in a multi-process manufacturing environment, with a key focus of LEAN Manufacturing & Six Sigma methodologies.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree: BEng, BSc or BTech in Industrial Engineering.
• Certifications in LEAN Manufacturing/Six Sigma would be beneficial
• Experience: 2-3 years of management experience within an industrial engineering capacity, ideally in a manufacturing environment with complex production processes.
• Language: Proficiency in Zulu and English

Key Responsibilities:

• Calculate Standard Minutes (SM): Conduct time studies and determine Standard Minutes for various tasks and production processes to establish time standards for workers.
• Time Studies & Process Optimization: Lead time studies for new product developments and re-evaluate existing garment studies to enhance operational efficiency.
• Workflow & Line Balancing: Optimize production workflows and balance production lines for maximum efficiency.
• Lead Industrial Engineering Initiatives: Drive 5S and Kaizen principles, collaborating with the team to implement these methodologies.
• Team Coordination & Mentorship: Manage and mentor junior engineers to ensure the continuous improvement of operations.
• Collaboration Across Departments: Work with production, quality control, and design teams to implement effective changes and improvements.
