Senior Lecturer – Mathematics and Statistics needed at Tshwane University of Technology

Critical Performance Areas

• Teach various modules in the fields of Mathematics;
• Provide quality teaching and learning, with technology, in theory class and practicals;
• Participation in departmental, faculty and institutional committees relating to the leaning programmes of the department;
• Participate in the administration of various departmental initiatives;
• Participate in the community engagement initiatives/programmes of the department/University;
• Liaise with other departments/faculties and help to improve success rate of students;
• Participate in the development of new modules/academic programmes;
• Perform any other administrative/academic tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the Head of Department or Section-Head;
• Planning of study material and the design of learning opportunities;
• Participate in research and community service projects;
• Involvement in the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students;
• Good teaching and research guidance to undergraduate and postgraduate students; and
• As senior lecturer, the incumbent will be responsible for excellence in academic, research and technological advancement.

Minimum Requirements
Academic qualifications:

• A PhD degree in Mathematics/Applied mathematics or equivalent qualification with an undergraduate qualification in Mathematics/Applied mathematics. 

Experience:

• Three (3) years relevant experience at Lecturer level at an institution of higher learning.
• The candidate should have a proven track record of research, publication and M and D student leadership.
• Evidence of participation at local and international conferences will be an added advantage.

Knowledge and skills:

• Good communication and organizational skills.
