Key Performance Output

The successful candidate will be responsible for Cluster 1, consisting of O.R Tambo International Airport and Bram Fischer International Airport. The incumbent will be reporting to the Group Executive HR, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Assist line managers in translating business strategic objectives and business plans in workforce capabilities.
  • Develop and promote feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and business processes.
  • Partner with line managers to implement end-to-end people management processes and provide day-to-day operational support in the management thereof (including, but not limited to talent acquisition, reward and recognition, development, performance-, talent- and change management, employee relations).
  • Facilitate long-term initiatives aligned with the strategic plan.
  • Build, support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of organisational goals.
  • Implement remedial actions where required.
  • Provide specialised technical / professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives.
  • Provide input into workforce planning and implement approved labour plans to ensure team is suitably staffed to meet sub-functional objectives.
  • Plan, organise, lead and control subordinate’s activities to ensure sub-functional objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Manage people development initiatives people development processes such as performance management, succession planning and talent management to meet functional performance standards.
  • Assess team development needs and close gaps.
  • Agree and implement own and sub-ordinates development plans.
  • Coach team and create a pro-learning environment.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required: 

  • Bachelor Honours Degree NQF Level 8 (480 credits) in Industrial Psychology / Human Resources / Social Sciences is essential.
  • 8 years operational experience HR Generalist across function 
  • 5 years management experience in Stakeholder and People Management is essential.
  • Valid Code B driver’s license is essential.
  • MS Office proficiency on an advanced level.
