Description

  • Manage and provide SHE expertise and support to Enaex Africa sites by engaging stakeholders, assessing needs, applying best practices, and delivering specialist guidance as required.
  • Manage and lead incident investigation and reporting by facilitating information gathering, reviewing findings, ensuring clear recommendations are issued, and drafting responses to SHE incidents and third-party safety requests.
  • Manage and ensure consistent SHE standards and practices by delivering high-quality training, securing SHE representative certifications, conducting due diligence and audits, and analyzing SHE data to identify risks and maintain best practices.
  • Strategically lead SHE audits by managing audit requests and requirements, reviewing outcomes, and executing corrective action plans as needed.
  • SHE risk management by participating in key committees, identifying and assessing SHE risks, developing mitigation strategies, and guiding risk discussions at the enterprise level.
  • Manage, lead and oversee implementation of SHE protocols by managing training delivery, ensuring full compliance, and addressing non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Manage SHE protocol adherence by defining monitoring standards, ensuring timely execution, and resolving any issues within set deadlines. 

Requirements

Certification:

  • SQAS.
  • Responsible Care.
  • Process Safety Management (PSM).

Systems / Software:

  • Advanced MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • SHEQ Electronic Management System/Chemical.
  • Safety & Quality Assessment for Sustainability (SQAS) Management System.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • BEng/BSc in Occupational Hygiene and Safety Management or similar.
  • Lead Auditor’s Certificate.
  • Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Business management or related qualification (Advantageous).
  • South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Saiosh)-Required membership.
  • 10+ years in SHE Management.
  • 5+ years in Mining / Chemicals SHE Management environment.
  • 8+ years (Required staff management experience).
  • 10+ years (Required management experience).
