Senior Specialist: Analytics and Insights needed at MultiChoice

Tasks

Operational Delivery

• Build business requirements, executes projects and derives business insights
• Locate and define new process improvements
• Complete projects/tasks assigned or working with other staff (internal /external) and following up on assigned projects/task
• Engage with customers to unpack requirements and design with for future requirements based on future needs
• Create Information and Insights Packs inclusive of PowerPoint, Dash boarding or Reporting, , or any fit-for-purpose reporting and information management tools.
• Lead the development and delivery of complex data analysis and insight generation to guide strategic and operational decisions.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define and frame analytical problems, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Design, develop, and implement robust data models, forecasts, and dashboards using advanced analytical and BI tools.
• Identify business trends, risks, and opportunities through statistical methods, data mining, and predictive analytics.
• Translate complex findings into compelling stories and visualizations for executive-level audiences.
• Champion data governance, integrity, and quality across data pipelines and reporting systems.
• Mentor junior analysts and promote knowledge sharing across analytics functions.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve data infrastructure, tools, and data pipelines.
• Drive innovation by identifying and recommending enhancements to data processes, systems, and analytics capabilities.

Data to Analytic Insights

• Create Business Requirements documents for Solutions up to Data Modelling and Data Mapping stages including Presentation Specifications (excluding Technical Specifications)
• Conducting Data Mining
• Turn data into information so that the client can gain a better understanding of the gaps within their business
• Utilise data to provide insights to the client in order to make effective business decisions
• Interpret data, analyse results using statistical tools and provide ongoing reports
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems and data analytics
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases/data systems
• Identify, analyse and interpret trends in complex data sets

Adherence to Policies and Procedures

• Ensure adherence to departmental and company policies and rules
• Ensure compliance to all South African IT legislation and governance
• Ensure continuous improvement of standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to the development and management of Service Level Agreements
• Provide continuous insights in the development of new policies and procedures to deal with present-day and future challenges.

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics, or related field

Experience Required

• 8–10 years’ experience in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, or business intelligence within a complex, data-rich environment.
• Proven track record of driving insight-led business decisions in financial services, insurance, or banking domains.
• Expertise in leading analytics initiatives that influence high-level business outcomes.
• Strong experience designing and implementing BI solutions and forecasting models.
• Experience working in agile cross-functional teams and engaging at the executive level.
