The KPA’s are listed below detailing why this role is so critical to the success of the TFG Textiles business and brand reputation:

Regulatory Compliance: 

  • Manage the fabric quality, performance and overall enhancement.
  • Taking responsibility to ensure fabric standards meet to the TFG’s Textile specification set out in the Quality Compliance guideline manual.
  • Manage supplier relationship both local and off-shore.
  • Ensure legislative and regulatory compliance on product labelling. 

Risk Management: 

  • Manage the risk in the supply chains, from raw materials, processing, manufacturing and TFG’s routes to market (safety, business & reputational risks)

Quality Control: 

  • Implement protocols to monitor fabric quality consistency to the performance. 
  • Monitor Vendors and Textile Mills performance and highlight any deviations from specification and put action plans in place to rectify the fabric performance.

Product Development Support: 

  • Promote continuous fabric improvements and work closely with Textile mills to enhance the overall fabric performance.
  • Stay abreast with new fabric developments in the Textile Industry.
  • Analyse fabric construction and yarn specification.

Documentation and Record Keeping: 

  • Ensure all filing and laboratory records are assessed and loaded within the predetermined SLA and Quality System

Customer Confidence: 

  • Responding to complaints and incidents quickly and effectively, ensuring stakeholders are aware and relevant action is taken to prevent late deliveries. 

Collaboration: 

  • Build strong suppliers/laboratory partner relationships. 
  • Build future capabilities with lab partners. 

Supplier Management: 

  • Playing an active role in the supplier strategy, ensuring we use the best Textile Mills & sources
  • Supporting the development of supplier capability through collaborative engagement, setting clear goals and measuring progress. 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completed tertiary qualification in Textiles or Fabric Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Textiles environment. Across knits, Wovens, Dyeing and laboratories as a added benefit.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, national, and international compliance standards and regulations ISO Standards.
  • Good knowledge of fabric qualities and fabric pricing.
  • Proven experience in developing Textile fabric and process.

Skills:

  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
  • Strong literacy skills and computer literacy in Excel, Word and Power Point.
