Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the Safety, Occupational Health, Environment and Quality system within Production
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Safety, Occupational Health, Environment, Quality and Food Safety Management system
- Ensure that procedures are followed correctly regarding change control at Production level
- Ensure validation studies for equipment, block flow diagram and process are available
- Report/communicate to Production and PT&T on formulation, process changes etc. that will influence Safety, Occupational Health, Environment and Quality, as well as food safety at plant level
- Identify Safety, Health, Occupational Environment and Quality and food safety issues (especially adherence to legislation and ISO/FSSC standards) and help/support with specialist knowledge to solve the issues
- Verify that FSSC 22000, ISO45000, ISO14001 related training is done
- Conduct quarterly meetings to ensure alignment between branches
- Ensure that all risks pertaining to Safety, Occupational Health, Environment and Quality (including Food Safety) is quantified and mitigation measures, including appropriate work procedures and PPE are implemented
- Support and manage the Safety, Occupational Health, Environment and quality, product technical and food safety requirements in Production
Provide support to Production regarding trials and processes
- Ensure effective communication (e.g. written, verbal) when new processes, products etc. is implemented by PT&T
- Conduct and coordinate product recalls and withdrawals when requested
- Ensure all updates specifications from PT&T is issued and implemented per branch through the above-mentioned system
- Give direction to Production when product, packaging & raw material does not comply with specifications (concessions)
- Ensure that an effective Occupational Health care service is provided
- Conduct Safety, Occupational Health & Environmental meetings, and run adhoc awareness campaigns
- Provide product technical/expert advise & support to Production management
- Provide support to projects, trials, root cause analysis (RCA), modifications and validations, as per the request from the relevant functional input
- Coordinate training and development of Production staff relating to processes and products principles
- Monitor and guide the job observation program e.g. SOP’s, One Point Lessons, Task Based Training etc. in consultation with relevant functional input
- Assist with the technical issues (where applicable) when contract manufacturing is done in a Production facility according to the contractual specification of the product
- Identify, develop, standardise and implement tools & techniques to ensure effective manufacturing
- Investigate complaints, incidents and corrective actions regarding Safety, Occupational Health, Environment and Quality and food safety
- Conduct, report and record investigations related to Safety, Occupational Health, Environment, Quality and implement corrective actions
Action the priorities and corrections with Production team
- Manage and liaise with Production regarding investigation of complaints and SHEQ incidents, provide expert advice where required
- Facilitate Safety, Occupational Health, Environment, Quality, product technical, and food safety audits
Ensure that the facility is aware and available for all related audits
- Validate that the relevant documentations are in place for the audit
- Ensure that the corrective actions of previous findings are done
- Ensure that proactive steps are taken to minimise risks, findings etc. in the system
- Ensure internal audit protocol/methodology regarding Head Office plant audits is done. (FSSC/GMP Based)
- Liaise with other stakeholders (e.g. PT&T, Sensillo, Projects, etc.) that manufacturing equipment is validated against functionality
- Maintain Entropy system
Manage staff – where applicable
- Ensure optimal utilisation of staff
- Apply consistent discipline
- Train and develop staff
- Conduct meetings and ensure effective communication to all
- Liaise and communicate with management in all departments
- Set objectives, manage and measure performance of subordinates
