Duties and Responsibilities
Job Specification:
- Rail line inspections and reporting of any deviations
- Make effective decisions during shunting activities to avoid delays
- Correctly switch rail points and position blades to direct tankers to appropriate loading/offloading bays
- Ensure good housekeeping/cleanliness of shunting yard
- Ensure compliance with rail safety regulations during all shunting and tanker placement activities
- Carry out regular shunting checks as per SOPs/WIs
- Report all deviations/faults on rail lines
- Weigh in and out of rail tankers and record weights on SAP
- Shunting of rail tankers from and to siding and within the plant
- Placing and positioning of rail tankers in correct loading/offloading bays
- Inspect and report all deviations/faults on rail tankers
- Placing of dispatch cards on rail tankers
- Liaise with Rail supervisor on all shunting operations
