- In this position, the incumbent is accountable to troubleshoot and repair breakdowns on on-site units, perform installations of new instrumentation units and have the ability to work on his own and in a team.
- The incumbent will work on cryogenics as requested and perform basic fitting required to install, repair, change and/or commission instrumentation.
- The candidate should have experience with Yokogawa DCS and Schneider PLC systems.
- Responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance services on ASU and CO2 Plants.
- Carry out assigned PMs and service requests and update the CMMS system on completion of activities.
- Overall responsibility, with the team, for maintenance of the plant.
- Responsible for installation of new instrumentation equipment including the integration to PLC/DCS.
- Respond to breakdown call-outs, troubleshooting instrumentation problems. Working with DCS; PLC’S; valves; actuators; weighing systems; cylinders; regulators; positioners; switches; analysers; flow, pressure, level, temperature, etc. meters/instruments; and general light electrical experience.
- Maintain quality records and procedures as well as work within AL safety procedures.
- Responsible for instrumentation spares inventory control and coordinates with the plant managers.
- Responsible to adhere and maintain quality procedures and work instructions and adhere to safety standards and procedures.
- Ensuring that the Food Safety Management System is established, implemented, maintained and updated and reporting any problems. Form part of the Investigation
- Team in the event of any nonconforming Food Grade Product.
- Review of batch manufacturing records and release of medical gas in tankers (Finished Product ) as specified in the Quality System Manual
- For Healthcare related activities reports directly to the responsible pharmacist

Educational requirements
- Grade 12
- Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Field
Experience
- 3-5 years experience working with instrumentation and process control equipment
- Gas industry experience
Knowledge and Know-how specific to the job
- Knowledge of equipment like analyzers, flow meters, etc,
- Knowledge of Air separation process
- Knowledge of gases and their behaviours
- Knowledge of telemetry
- Understanding of gas and fluid dynamics and measurement.
