Core Responsibilities:

  • Render comprehensive Environmental Health Services and vector control services within the Municipality.
  • Identifies with the Environmental Health strategies with respect to service delivery and defines, implements, and monitors the short- and medium-term plans/objectives for the Environmental Health / Vector control function.
  • Manage the rendering of municipal environmental health services.
  • Ensure compliance to policies, guidelines, standard operational procedures and legislative requirements of the employer and statutory bodies.
  • Prevent unjustified/unnecessary expenditure and to comply with applicable financial legislation, supply chain management, policies, and procedures of the Organizations.
  • Ensure that environmental health services are rendered in a manner that complies with related policies and legislation governing the rights of customers.
  • Continuously assess team performance, provide timely and clear feedback on contracted outputs and provide training where appropriate.
  • Directs and control the key performance indicators and outcomes of personnel within the environmental health division
