Snr Spec: Enterprise Architect (BTE) needed at BCX

Core Description

• Provides architectural leadership across applications, data, infrastructure, and security domains and ensures that technology investments are scalable, integrated, cost-effective, and support digital transformation, cloud, and platform strategies.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

• Define and maintain BCX’s enterprise architecture vision, principles, standards, and roadmap.
• Align IT strategy with business goals and operational requirements, ensuring a future-ready technology landscape.
• Champion the adoption of a platform business model and Everything-as-a-Service (XaaS) strategy.
• Lead the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and enforce architectural governance, policies, and standards.
• Evaluate new technologies, vendors, and solutions for alignment with architectural principles and business fit.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, cybersecurity, and data governance standards.
• Guide and validate solution architecture decisions on major programmes and initiatives.
• Collaborate with Domain Architects (e.g., infrastructure, application, security, data) to develop reference architectures.
• Ensure that architecture supports scalability, integration, resilience, and operational efficiency.
• Facilitate business capability modelling and value stream mapping to drive transformation priorities.
• Lead application and infrastructure portfolio rationalisation and cloud migration planning.
• Evaluate emerging technologies such as AI, edge computing, IoT, and blockchain for BCX and its clients.

Minimum Qualifications

• NQF 7: 3 year Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems

Additional Education -Preferred /Advantage

• MBA or MS in a relevant computing field is advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of working experience in enterprise architecture role with cloud architecture, API-led integration and digital platforms.
• Deep understanding of ICT infrastructure, security, and enterprise applications (e.g., SAP, Salesforce).

Certifications

• TOGAF
• Enterprise Architecture
