ABOUT THE ROLE

  • The Social Work Specialist is a head-office (remote-first) social work expert who empowers evidence-based social work within Nurture’s hospitals by writing and improving social work protocols, auditing and analysing outcomes, and assisting with the building of capabilities within our social work teams nationwide.

Reporting to the Clinical Quality Manager, you will:

  • Collaborate with other specialists within the Clinical Quality Team to define and continuously improve Nurture’s social work and other clinical protocols.
  • Travel regularly to Nurture’s hospitals nationwide, building capability across social work teams through structured audits and mentorship.
  • Conduct and disseminate high quality research on the application of social work practices within Nurture hospitals.
  • Serve as the custodian of Nurture–SACSSP relations, supporting regulatory alignment and continued professional development.

GUARANTEED MONTHLY REMUNERATION: R 50 945.00 CTC (benefits included)

  • Identifies strongly with the values described in the Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics (1986) as published by the South African Council for Social Service Professions.

  • A self-starter, coupled with a preference for collaboration and teamwork.

Education, Experience, and Functional Learnings

  • Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) in the category Independent Practice (Social Worker).
  • Proven experience in successfully contributing to the development of social work policies, processes, and automated systems within an integrated practice unit comprised of more than six healthcare professions.
  • Demonstrated experience in social work research, conference presentations and/or peer-reviewed publications.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of the Social Service Professions Act 110 of 1978 as well as other professional board Guidelines as published by the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
