MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Supply chain, Procurement, Logistics, Engineering, Commence, Business, Public Management (NQF Level 7).
- Min 7 years relevant experience in Supply Chain management Department of which at least 2 years management experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement Category Management strategies
- Manage the implementation of Sourcing Plan.
- Manage end to end Tender process, including contracting.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership on supply chain management activities and develop an overall supply management strategy for allocated transactions.
- Chair BSC, BEC and participate in BAC as and when required.
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, bidding, negotiation, and supplier selection.
- Establish procurements strategies and methods to facilitate sector specific transformation strategies.
- Anticipate future needs and trends in supply chain management, ensuring sustainability and adaptability in the face of changes.
- Continuously improve supply chain management to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
- Proactively identify risks related to the supply chain management and develop contingency plans.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure continuity during emergencies or unexpected disruptions.
- Conduct financial analyses to assess the cost-effectiveness of supply chain management initiatives on allocated transactions.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach.
- Engage with key stakeholders to align activities with category management implementation.
- Encourage and adopt innovative practices and technologies that enhance Tender processes.
- Implement and Ensure that all supply chain management activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Prepare regular reports detailing supply chain management performances, cost savings, and strategic goals.
- ensure that all procurement activities adhere to ethical standards.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and benchmarks to improve supply chain management processes.
- Lead initiatives and act as a liaison for tender processes.
Demand and Acquisition process for engineering and non-engineering
- Demonstrate strong leadership qualities to advise and engage line function partners to comply and align to procurement best practices.
- Lead high level negotiations with procurement partners and suppliers and establish collaborative stakeholder and strategic supplier relationships to maximise the organisation’s influence and to develop and implement procurement arrangements and initiatives that deliver optimal value for money outcomes.
Performance management within the supply chain management team
- Develop and manage performance-based scorecards to manage and ensure continuous implementation of sourcing plan.
- Establish key performance indicators and qualitative and quantitative metrics to capture, report and evaluate the benefit of tender process activities allocated and lead improvement planning and implementation in consultation with key stakeholders and suppliers.
People management
- Provide direction and management to the direct reports to ensure they execute the divisional strategy and manage their portfolios effectively.
- Coach, train, guide and develop the SCM staff team.
