Job purpose

• To maintain and do minor repairs on buildings for safety purposes and to keep record of garden tools

 Appointment requirements

• Grade 12
• Relevant working experience in gardening and as a handyman
• Physical fitness and health

 Primary functions

• Ensure a clean, safe environment free from harmful objects or obstructing materials
• Remove all rubble and dirt to keep the environment neat and create a healthy environment for the benefit of children
• Keep outdoor equipment and toys clean, neatly packed and safely kept after use
• Conduct maintenance and regular inspection of play equipment and educational outdoor equipment for the safety of children
• Develop the community in projects such as a food garden by showing the community how to make compost and how to plant seedlings for poverty alleviation
• Be responsible for recordkeeping and accounting of assets
• Be responsible for the delivery of equipment
• Trim and keep hedges tidy to have a clear view of the outside area for easy supervision of children
• Keep the traffic centre neat and clean by painting road signs regularly to avoid rust and for safeguarding children against injuries and enhancing preschool maintenance
• Conduct general cleaning of all outside areas according to occupational health and safety standards
