Purpose
- The ideal candidate will leverage data analytics to support strategic decision-making, streamline and automate key processes, and analyze cost structures to identify cost-saving opportunities. This role requires a deep understanding of insurance industry dynamics, strong financial acumen, and advanced data analytics capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analytics
- Collect, process, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business performance.
- Use advanced statistical techniques and data mining methodologies to support business decisions.
Reporting & Visualization
- Create comprehensive reports and dashboards to present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar to effectively communicate complex data insights.
Streamlining/Automation process
- Conduct detailed analysis to identify key process and potential areas for streamlining/automation.
Collaboration
- Work closely with finance, underwriting, claims, and other departments to gather data and understand business needs.
- Partner with IT and data engineering teams to ensure data infrastructure supports analytical needs.
Strategic Initiatives
- Support strategic initiatives by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall business performance.
Innovation
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data analytics, cost management, and the insurance industry.
- Experiment with new methodologies and tools to enhance analytical capabilities and business impact.
Minimum Experience
- 1 – 2 years experience in a similar environment
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas [NQF Level 07] in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Competencies
- Proven experience in cost analysis, financial analysis, or data analytics within the insurance industry.
- Proficiency in using data analytics tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or similar.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Familiarity with insurance financial metrics, underwriting processes, and claims management is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
