Supervisor: Acquisition (Ref. WS17/102024) needed at The South African Weather Service

Key Performance Areas: 

• Manage and monitor the execution of the procurements in accordance with Procurement Plan and Demand Plan to ensure compliance to National Treasury regulations. 
• Ensure that acquisition process is sound and in compliance SCM Legal Framework before advert. 
• Coordinate, review and execute the bidding process 
• Provide advice and conduct market analysis as and when required 
• Monitor and oversee requests for prices quotations including its evaluation of suppliers before award 
• Advise and lead on all aspects of the work and provide continuous guidance to prospective bidders and User Departments on acquisition process 
• Implement effective measures to combat fraud and corruption controls. 
• Assist in developing and improving SCM policies and procedures.  

Required Minimum Education/Training: 

• National Diploma in Logistics / Supply Chain Management/Procurement or equivalent (NQF 6) 
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management/Procurement or equivalent (NQF 7) will be an added advantage 
• CIPS or any other equivalent organisation will be an added advantage 

 Required Minimum Work Experience: 

• A minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in Public Sector 
• Solid understanding of demand/acquisition management and executing demand management strategies
