Supervisor/ Driver needed at Nelson Mandela Bay Metro

Qualifications and experience required:

• One to two years’ experience.
• Basic literacy (secondary education).
• A valid C driver’s licence plus PDP.
• Proficiency certificate to drive a municipal vehicle.

Physical requirements of the position:

• The position requires the incumbent to be physically fit and able-bodied.

Special conditions associated to the position:

• Required to work in all weather conditions.
• Required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned work.

Job purpose:

• Performing tasks/activities associated with the clearing of blockage in sewer mains and/or private sewer connections by operating heavy vehicles to transport personnel and equipment to/from sites, undertaking and/or allocating and controlling cleaning applications, correcting deviations and providing demonstration of specific applications and attending to the updating of procedural information relating to personnel and the operation.
• As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
