Supervisor Shift Load and Haul – Mining Industry – R950k – R750k needed at RPO Recruitment

Responsibilities:

• Operations supervision: Oversee daily load and haul activities to ensure efficient, safe, and timely movement of material according to the mine plan.
• Contractor management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of contractor fleets, ensuring adherence to scope of work, safety standards, and productivity targets.
• Budget and cost control: Support the development and monitoring of the load and haul operational budget, ensuring alignment with production targets and cost parameters.
• People supervision and leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of operators, foremen, and assistants, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork.
• Continues improvement:  Identify operational inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing throughput, reducing cycle times, and improving fleet coordination.
• Implement best practices and lean mining techniques to streamline processes and enhance equipment productivity.
• SHERQ adherence and compliance: Ensure full compliance with Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ) standards and promote a proactive safety culture within the load and haul team.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Blasting Certificate or equivalent MQA qualification in Surface Mining
• Supervisory Certificate or ARM equivalent (NQF level 4 – 150 credits)
• Qualification in Surface Mining Blasting/Explosives Engineering (Recommended)
• National diploma (NQF Level 6) in Mining or Mining Engineering/Mine overseer certificate (Recommended)
• 5 years plus operational general surface mining experience – control room/quality control/machine operator
• 1 year plus experience as a Supervisor/Team leader in a surface mining environment.
• 1 year plus operational Load and Haul or Auxiliary Equipment operator experience (Recommended)
• 5 years plus experience as a Supervisor/Team leader Project leader in a surface Load and Haul mining environment. (Recommended)
