Job Description    

  • Comply with governance and established policies, systems, Adhere to and champion the AECI SQA framework, standards and tools to ensure quality inputs into the business
  • Conduct internal and supplier quality audits
  • Supplier quality performance information gathering and reporting
  • Management of risk through the identification and reporting of peculiar trends and incidents
  • Coordinating the recertification and verification of input packaging materials for regulatory and technical compliance
  • Coordinate and oversee Mould Qualification process for moulded components
  • Conduct and support trials and investigations of inputs originating from alternative sources of supply as required by the New Product introduction process; and also for technical problem resolutions
  • Assist with investigations into recovery opportunities of non-conforming materials and make recommendations
  • Interface with Sourcing to ensure that incoming supply meets AECI quality standards
  • Interface with R & D for specification amendments when improvement opportunities are observed
  • Provide input to change proposal process to ensure QMS & technical requirements are met
  • Provide specialist quality support and advisory
  • Provide input on quality assurance requirements during supplier selection process in line with AECI’s quality standards
  • Take initiative to perform regular quality training and awareness campaigns where applicable
  • Provide quality support and advisory
  • Manage the quality system, capturing and following up on complaints and corrective actions
  • Stakeholder relations and management: Maintain contact and build good working relations with plant line managers to facilitate continuous improvement processes; Liaise with procurement on sourcing and logistics of products as required

Qualifications & Experience    

  • National diploma or formal quality related qualification
  • 1 -2 years experience
  • Knowledge of all legal and safety requirements, e.g.. Explosives Act, OHS Act, and Factory / Departmental Regulations
  • Knowledge of good explosive practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or similar manufacturing philosophies
  • Sound understanding of the AECI quality management system and ISO 9000
  • Internal Auditor ISO 9001
  • Appropriate ISO Quality qualification and accreditation or quality engineering background
