Area of accountability no.1: PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Main activities: 

  • Propose resource requirements and appropriate organisational structure to meet the strategic missions, critical success factors and business outcomes for the department.
  • Manage and supports the recruitment of staff with the right experience, competencies and fit with the Virbac culture.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to direct reports in order to ensure they meet the expectations of performance, and to develop and support them in their role.

Ensure the implementation of:-

  • proper performance definition (job description and objectives), 
  • evaluation (regular feedback, annual performance review and other appropriate performance management measures), reward and recognition and 
  • training and development processes (Individual development plans as appropriate). 
  • Ensure the communication and understanding of the company’s vision, values, culture and strategy, and fosters a positive, motivating working environment for all employees.
  • Assist in the implementation of programs to improve employee and team performance, satisfaction and retention.
  • Contribute to succession planning. 
  • Encourage and facilitates interdepartmental team work.
  • Ensure the department proactively participates in all environmental, health and safety initiatives and complies with required policies and standards.

Area of accountability no.2: MEMBER OF INDUSTRIAL LEADERSHIP TEAM

Main activities:

  • Provide aligned leadership to the Industrial Operations (IO) group by sharing of information and pro-actively communicating on topics such that all employees have a clear understanding of their contribution to the success of the company.
  • Define, Implement and Measure IO strategy by interpreting the company strategy as set by HQ and country strategy as set by Executive Leadership team (ELT) in order to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Drive improvements and manage change within IO.
  • Act as an individual representing your functional area at the ILT level but come to decisions that adds best value to the company as a whole.
  • Develop our employees in a proactive manner by empowering direct reports, 
  • delegating in a responsible manner and training employees.
  • Establish the desired culture and act as a role model for the desired culture.

Area of accountability no.3: SUPPLY CHAIN OPTIMISATION

Main activities:

  • Implement and manage supply chain standards and practices across the organisation, ensuring visibility.
  • Ensure stability and a degree of flexibility in supply chain.
  • Secure supply of strategic products for business continuity.
  • Monitor and maintain annual budgets and expense for all areas of Supply Chain.
  • Manage all functional areas of responsibility within supply chain.

Expected results: To ensure an integrated approach to supply objectives.

Area of accountability no.4: PLANNING

Main activities:

  • Manage the Planning activities for Operations, including ensuring appropriate  Supply Chain – Customer interaction on weekly and monthly basis including IBP (S&OP), Pre-IBP Pre-S&OP) meetings.
  • Partner with Commercial Team to produce a robust forecast for sale able products.
  • Ensure timely importation of Finished and semi finished goods manufactured by Carros and 3rd party suppliers and ensure timely supply of finished goods from local 3rd Party Manufacturers.
  • Assist in creating efficient processes through development and training.

Expected results:  Right product at the right time.

Area of accountability no.5: INVENTORY

Main activities:

  • Ensure there is a well defined classification process, consistent units of measure, an efficient measuring process and a practical tracking and reporting system.
  • Monitor inventory levels based on policies and focus on inventory management that optimises working capital. 
  • Ensure inventory demand is in line with business targets stated in days-of-cover and absolute ZARs.

Expected results: Balanced inventory results. 

Area of accountability no. 6: MRP MAINTENANCE

Main activities:

  • Ensure Sourcing, Planning, Demand and Purchasing functions are working efficiently and effectively at MRP level with accurate parameters that are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Expected results: Accurate and reliable MRP data.

Area of accountability no. 7: PURCHASING

Main activities:

  • Procurement: Partner with Procurement to ensure alignment of activities including pricing, EOQs, tendering, supplier management and security of supply. 
  • Supply: Ensure continuous supply of materials to satisfy the business requirements to the set level of quality and inventory.
  • Write-off: Manage/identify materials that have expiry issues to minimise write-offs.
  • Expected results: Right product and / or component, at the right time, at the  right inventory level.

Area of accountability no.8:  WAREHOUSE AND DISTRIBUTION

Main activities:

  • Manage all functions associated with distribution to achieve customer expectations.
  • Responsible for 3PL warehouse compliance to Virbac’s expectations.
  • Responsible for warehouse compliance to WHS and Regulatory requirements.

Expected results: Right product at the right time with high levels of customer satisfaction.

Area of accountability no.9: CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Main activities:

  • Establish a culture where reduction in costs and improved service levels are deliverables.
  • Develop capabilities for a flexible and agile supply chain whilst developing optimisation initiatives.
  • Encourage ongoing initiatives to implement change and flexibility in own area and others.
  • Foster learning through all aspects of the business, internally and externally.

Area of accountability no.10: BUDGET MANAGEMENT

Main Activities:

  • Ensure that clear budget targets are set for expenses and CAPEX for production site
  • Ensure that ongoing costs are maintained within budget 
  • Identify cost savings measures through continuous improvement initiatives without compromising quality of product 

Expected results:  Ensure budget targets are met

Area of accountability no. 11: WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

Main activities: 

  • Ensure that all measures are taken to take reasonable care of your safety and those of others.

Know-how: job-related skills required to complete activities

  • Expert knowledge in MRP, Sales & Operation Planning, Logistics, Demand planning, Production Planning, Sourcing, Warehousing, Distribution.
  • Sound knowledge of HR practices associated with people management.
  • General business knowledge with strong customer focus.
  • Expert knowledge in Inventory Control and management of Third Party Contract suppliers.
  • Expertise in project management, including strong skills in planning and execution ensuring alignment to business goals.
  • Strong knowledge in purchasing of finished and semi-finished product.
  • Understanding of the financial issues that impact the business.  Ability to set and manage budgets.
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety standards.
  • Expert in company ERP system (Movex) and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google applications.
  • Languages (specify level): Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Educational level or equivalent experience:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent

Total number of years’ experience required to fulfil the role: 

  • Minimum 5 years (Logistics or Supply Chain)

Career pre-requisites:

  • Supervisory experience ideally in a pharmaceutical industry within logistics, planning and demand.
