Surveyor (REF: IVP-MTS-2503) needed at Ivanhoe Mines

• IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to   develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12/ NQF Level 4
• Relevant certificate in construction hand
• Valid Driver’s licence
• Repair and Maintenance Tasks.
• Handling of mechanical equipment (once trained and certified)
• Strong technical knowledge.
• Able to read a survey plan and construction plans

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• Preferability 2 years relevant underground mining experience in a similar role
• Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment.
• Help coordinate employee schedules and time clocks.
• Regularly check and identify issues mechanical failure or breakdowns.
• Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment or materials.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Compliance and application of Sect 22 and 23 of the Mine Health and Safety Act
• Timely report major maintenance repair
• Help coordinate subcontractors as needed.
• Aid with all other tasks as instructed by the Manager
