About the Role

The System Administrator drives high-RPM infrastructure stability by managing server data and ensuring 100% compliance with national cybersecurity and health informatics standards. Utilizing AWS for cloud orchestration and ServiceNow for incident management, the administrator minimizes operational risk in the digital lifecycle. Their role leverages data-driven diagnostics to optimize system performance and ensures the technical reliability of the provincial health network.

  • An appropriate Diploma/Degree qualification [NQF level 6 or higher].
  • Appropriate experience and proven track record in all major aspects of systems management within a health care environment. Appropriate experience in system support to be able to manage the eLearning Management system used in the Department. Appropriate experience in content creation and management in a Moodle environment.
  • Good planning, organisational skills and project management methodologies. Computer literacy (Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint etc). Ability to produce accurate system reports. Good communication and writing skills and problem-solving analysis.
  • Responsible to ensure that various systems integrity is monitored and access training is provided to users. Engage with various role players to ensure that individual system requirements are administered.
  • Collaborate with management to identify and define the strategies, policies and procedures at various platforms. Monitor and evaluate system implementation of new content to achieve online training objectives. Engage and collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure departmental objectives are met.
  • Manage uploaded content to ensure NO departmental values are transgressed and monitored. Responsible for help desk support for all People Development system related queries. Report quarterly user activities and challenges to management. Monitor and report course participation and completion. Maintain the Learning Management System. Manage facilitators and content creators.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel. Willing to work irregular hours.
  • R 325 101 per annum – R 382 959 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is mandatory, with growth supported by certifications in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or VMware.
