Job Description

  • The role will support the Business in the delivery of technical engineering and environmental related recruitment & talent acquisition. With the support and guidance of the Senior Talent Acquisition Business Partner , this role will cover all aspects of recruitment & talent acquisition to include liaising with the HR Team, Business Unit Leads, Recruiting managers, Candidates and Recruitment & talent acquisition suppliers. The role recruits in a skills shortage market therefore the candidate will require a wider understanding of a variety of candidate attraction techniques and sourcing strategies. This role would suit someone who is highly organized, has a diligent work ethic, and is able to work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing recruitment & talent acquisition activities in an effort to successfully source competent and suitable candidates for active and forecasted roles within the business.
  • Follow, manage and monitor all WSP recruitment & talent acquisition practices, policies and processes. 
  • Fully knowledgeable of WSP’s EE Plan and drive achievement of the EE targets by ensuring the placement of EE candidates.
  • Utilizing various recruitment & talent acquisition tools and platforms to meet recruitment & talent acquisition demands, such as internal recruitment & talent acquisition systems, external recruitment & talent acquisition systems, networking initiatives, agencies, social media tools ie LinkedIn Recruiting
  • Action internal recruitment & talent acquisition approval processes including obtaining approval to utilize external recruitment & talent acquisition measures.
  • Analytical interviewing for candidate pre-screening.
  • Regular Line Manager contact & communication covering all aspects of the recruitment cycle, including discussing CV and candidate feedback.
  • End to end candidate management duties including, pre-screening, shortlisting’s, interview set up, background checks, regretting of unsuccessful candidates and supporting with HR Administration in relation to the placement and onboarding of new employees.
  • Work with a high volume of vacancies in a skills shortage market and successfully making placements with a highly responsive time to fill.
  • Stay updated with the latest recruitment & talent acquisition trends and ensure continual improvement of WSP recruitment & talent acquisition and talent attraction strategies.
  • Promote the WSP brand and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Min 3-5 years solid experience in recruitment & talent acquisition.
  • At least 2 years in-house recruitment & talent acquisition experience.
  • HR or recruitment & talent acquisition related qualification degree.
  • Experience in HR administration, specifically in relation to recruitment & talent acquisition cycle and processes ie, drafting of offer letters, contracts etc.
  • Recruitment & talent acquisition experience in a skills shortage industry especially consulting engineering, transport, construction and power advantageous.
  • Experience with virtual recruitment & talent acquisition process, activities and initiatives.
  • Experience with RMS (Recruitment & talent acquisition Management System).
  • Strong Microsoft word and excel abilities.
  • Strong recruitment & talent acquisition network

  • Relationship management skills; proven experience in building rapport, gaining credibility as part of a team, building trust, working in partnership with cross functional teams and to proactively deliver upon commitments and expectations.
  • Must have experience recruiting talent in an engineering, environmental and mining related industry.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; able to influence and engage with people, comfortable with presenting ideas and views, able to constructively challenge, probe and offer an alternative perspective in discussions.
  • Team player; the candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to work within real and virtual teams, create a team working environment and participate within a team, including the HR function and with Line Managers across the client group/business stream.
  • Analytical; able to analyse, interpret and communicate business, financial and people data to inform discussions and develop solid recruitment & talent acquisition plans.
  • Results driven; proactive, accountable, responsible for delivery with a strong client/customer service orientation.
  • Resilient, self-motivated, multi-tasker and able to remain calm under pressure and when working towards a variety of deadlines.
  • Time management and a highly organised approach are essential as well as advanced level IT skills.
