Description

Our successful candidate will be accountable managing, coordinating a team on shift basis by:

• Effectively managing and coordinating people, equipment and processes to ensure optimal team’s performance to achieve goals and objectives as per the balance score card of the functional area and QCDSM principles.
• Ensuring team’s adherence to safe working practices in line with the relevant; procedures/SWI’s as well as process parameters.
• Coordinating training and assessments to ensure team’s competence and supporting development plans.      
• Maintaining the team conduct/behavior in line with the Company values and policies.
• Ensuring proper record keeping of relevant documents and files.

Requirements

• Minimum qualification N6 (Mechanical/Electrical field or equivalent). Must have 5 years’ experience in steel making process of which 2 years must be as a Process Controller, and have record of solid exposure to the Team Manager role. Exposure to the Finishing and Distribution business unit as a Process Controller will be an added advantage.
• Candidates with grade 12/N3 (Mechanical/Electrical field) and Management related qualification or TMDP candidates will also be considered for grade 8 ONLY. Must have at least 15 years’ experience in steel making process of which a minimum 8 years must be Process Controller, Process Controller Finishing and Distribution will be an added advantage. Must have solid exposure to the Team Manager role. 
• Must have knowledge of; OHSACT, LRA and understand the principles of QCDSM.
• On shift basis must be willing to work independent, coach teams, take initiative as well as manage team’s key performance areas/indicators. 
• Must be decisive, cope well under pressure and have analytical ability.
• Required skills; computer literate (MS office, People soft and INX). Good verbal and written communication, problem solving, attention to detail, planning, organizing, lead and control.
