About the Role
This high-RPM role manages technical sales data and ensures 100% compliance with global engineering and safety standards for industrial products. Utilizing Salesforce for lead orchestration and SAP for resource management, the engineer reduces operational risk in high-value B2B sales. Their leadership leverages data-driven diagnostics to optimize technical solutions and ensures the commercial integrity of the group’s national and international engineering portfolio.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for the sales of products/systems/services within a designated market/division, in line with the division strategy.
- Each day, you will achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets to ensure sustainable order growth, revenues, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying and developing new sales opportunities.
- This role is contributing to the ABB PAMP Marine & Ports Division in Africa. Main stakeholders are De Beers Marine; Transnet; Offshore Oil Rig Platforms and Rigs across African continent.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Communicating to the customers about details related to delivery time, payments, and general terms and conditions, in line with ABB’s offering and strategy.
- Ensuring efficient marketing activities and communicates value proposition to customers.
- Identifying and driving the development of new market opportunities in the designated market.
- Managing administrative procedures in sales processes and supports cash collection and project management activities, when needed.

Qualifications for the Role
- You are immersed and highly skilled & enjoy working with SAP Sales Force and the Global Marine and Ports industry market
- Ability to demonstrate your experience in selling of solutions and products. Have established skills Automation and Drives or switchboard.
- You have 5 years of experience in preferably in the Offshore Oil and Gas field
- Working as Technical Sales Engineer with ABB products, technologies and Solutions
- Highly proficient in SAP and Sales Force preferably
- You are passionate and innovative around working on a Global Platform
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Have a demonstrated track record in offshore oil and gas
- You are at ease communicating in English
- You hold current required Drivers licenses valid in South Africa
Career Growth & Education
A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering is mandatory, with growth supported by a proven track record in technical sales. Career progression leads toward Commercial Director or Regional Engineering Head roles by mastering digital transformation and complex negotiation. Pursuing specialized bootcamps in AI-driven sales and obtaining professional certifications provides a pathway to high-paying global leadership positions.
Salary & Financial Insight
Estimated monthly earnings range from R45,000 to R85,000, plus performance-linked commission and car allowances. High-income engineers should prioritize professional wealth management and early enrollment in a diversified retirement annuity to secure long-term capital.
