Key Responsibilities:
Training Needs Analysis:
- Perform training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and areas requiring training intervention.
- Ensure teams skills matrix is relevant and up to date.
- Recommend relevant training interventions based off skills matrix.
- Collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to define learning objectives.
- Keep abreast of the latest technological advancements and industry trends to ensure training content remains relevant and up to date.
Design & Programme Development
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop new starter on the job training, cross-skilling training, refresher training programs and materials that align with the organisation’s technical training needs and goals.
- Develop structured, role-specific learning content (manuals, guides, simulations, e-learning modules) using instructional design principles.
- Ensure content is aligned with regulatory standards, system changes, and industry developments and organisational performance goals.
- Develop training content, including presentations, manuals, user guides, e-learning modules, and multimedia materials to support different learning styles.
- Conduct engaging and informative training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques, including presentations, demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and interactive activities.
Training Delivery
- Facilitate technical onboarding, upskilling, and refresher training sessions for new and existing employees.
- Deliver system, process, and compliance training across functions (e.g., TLM, HiPortfolio, trading platforms).
- Adapt training for different learning styles and levels of seniority.
- Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to learners during and after training sessions.
Evaluation & Reporting
- Measure training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and KPIs.
- Provide monthly reports on training coverage, competency development, and skills progression.
- Monitor post-training performance improvements in collaboration with team leaders.
- Maintain up-to-date training materials and SOPs.
- Ensure all training records are properly documented and auditable.
- Utilise learning management systems to manage training materials, track learner progress, and generate reports.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with operations managers, compliance teams, and system owners to ensure training relevance.
- Support change management initiatives through targeted training interventions
Requirements
Education & Experience
- A minimum of 5 years working experience in financial services (investment management) industry
- Diploma or course in SA Financial Market Instruments will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the Financial Markets and Financial instruments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Proven experience as a technical trainer, technical instructor, or related role with strong expertise in the technical subject matter to be taught.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design techniques.
- Proficiency in using training tools, multimedia software, and learning management systems.
- Experience in creating and delivering training content using various methodologies and formats.
