PURPOSE:

 To facilitate and implement the Fleet Management and High Precision Mining Equipment Systems on various mining equipment at the Business Unit and to ensure sustainability and continuous improvement of these systems.

To perform certain duties and projects to improve safety, ensure improvement of equipment performance and reduce maintenance and operational costs.

Minimum Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
:

  •     Trade: Millwright MQA/QCTO (Essential/Minimum)
  •     N Dip: Electrical Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
  •     Certificate First Line Management (Recommended/Desirable)

EXPERIENCE: 

  • 3 years Relevant maintenance experience on Mining or Plant equipment.      (Essential/Minimum) Operational

REQUIREMENTS: 

  •     Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
  •     Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
  •     Competence: MS Office Relevant Package (Essential/Minimum)
  •     MHS Act Regulation 2.9.2 (Recommended/Desirable)

Duties & Responsibilities
Administration and Support Services   

  •  Document service and installation actions by completing job cards when applicable
  •  Conduct tests and collect data on the FMS (Fleet Management Systems), HPS (High Precision Systems) and interacting and integrated systems

Best Practice and Knowledge Management    

  •  Initiate continuous improvement initiatives leading to cost saving opportunities

Budget and Cost Control    

  •  Manage expenses during the year not to exceed the budget

Business Improvement    

  •  Initiate Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives whilst keeping touch with new developments and technologies to improve process capabilities, product quality and throughput requirements
  •  Liaise with other specialists, contractors and personnel to ensure effective resolution

Compliance, Governance and Assurance    

  •  Ensure compliance to the maintenance schedule for FMS & HPS and interacting systems
  •  Ensure equipment integrity is maintained according to safety standards

Customer, Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management    

  •  Engage with mining and engineering departments through examining complaints
  •  Perform adjustments to the FMS, HPS and the interacting systems as required by the mining client
  •  Manage internal and external relations, including interface with external providers or other functions responsible to ensure that the business needs are met and employees/clients are satisfied
  •  Provide timeous and accurate feedback to clients, direct supervisor and management

Equipment Operations and Control    

  •  Responsible to update systems and ensure that systems are loaded with the latest software
  •  Ensure proper control is taken to adhere to the network protocols and security
  •  Develop/implement/maintain system and electrical infrastructure and installations

Project Management    

  •  Facilitate systems implementation and uptime by studying system requirements, ordering components and parts, completing installation and performing acceptance tests
  •  Periodical reporting to direct supervisor on project output deliverables and progress
  •  Do project planning and conduct relative conventional smaller projects that include implementation and commissioning

Safe and Healthy Work Environment    

  •  Maintain and ensure a healthy environment and safe operations and practices
  •  In cases of equipment (project) or system malfunction, identify the source of the technical or human/machine interface problem to ensure safe operation
  •  Encourage a culture that focuses on safety always, in all operations
  •  Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA’s) before any task starts
  •  Ensure compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures with set standards

Technical Support    

  •  Ensure effective delivery of service through high level maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
  •  Install, load, set up, calibrate, maintain/repair FMS, HPS and the interacting systems through changing parts or component and ensure the systems are fully operational and reliable as per OEM specifications during preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, RCM, breakdowns and when doing troubleshooting during normal hours, after hours and during callouts
  •  Calculate, record and monitor results during cold start-ups and during hot commissioning
  •  Conduct audits on installations on installations, equipment, systems and facilities
  •  Analyse the cause of defects and inefficiency of parts of the FMS, HPS and interacting systems
