Technologist: NRL Molecular – Centurion (Contract) needed at Ampath

Purpose of Position:

• To process specimens according to set criteria and standards on all benches in the Molecular Biology Laboratory

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Honours, HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field, National Diploma: Biomedical Technology

Required Experience:

• Experiential training in a training laboratory, Knowledge: HPCSA regulations, Knowledge: Meditech system, Knowledge: Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA)

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse specimens on the different detection platforms in order to ensure efficient delivery of results, Assist in development and evaluation of new assays when required, Conduct Training and Assessment functions to ensure competent employees, Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath, Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath, Perform HIV viral loads efficiently to ensure acceptable turn around time, Process specimens in the extraction area in order to ensure efficient delivery of results in the detection area
