Job Description
- Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Midrand has an opportunity available for a Total Rewards Specialist to join the Head Office team. The purpose of the role is to provide analytical and strategic support in designing, implementing, administering, and managing employee compensation and benefits programs, including retirement, risk, medical aid, and wellness offerings to support talent attraction and retention.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee compensation and benefits matters. Coordinate projects, manage employee communication, engage stakeholders, and liaise with external service providers.
Minimum Requirements…
Essential:
- Matric or equivalent Senior Certificate
- Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology or Business Management
- Minimum of 5 – 7 years’ experience in total rewards.

Key Responsibilities…
Compensation:
- Collect and analyze market data to ensure the company’s compensation and benefits packages remain competitive.
- Provide analytical support in preparing and managing compensation and benefits budgets.
- Support the development and maintenance of salary structures, pay grades, and compensation policies.
- Support the performance and salary review process with accurate data and tools.
Employee Benefits Management:
- Administer employee benefit schemes and ensure alignment with company policies and guidelines.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees on compensation and benefits issues.
- Develop communication and training materials to keep employees informed of updates.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Stay abreast of compensation and benefits legislation to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Produce monthly and ad-hoc reports to support data-driven insights and decision-making.
- Support audits and maintain proper documentation for compliance purposes.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and deliver strategic Total Rewards initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, offering guidance and recommendations on compensation and benefits matters.
- Ensure timely, accurate responses to stakeholder requests.
Vendor Management:
- Engage and negotiate with insurance providers, brokers, and third-party administrators to secure cost-effective benefit plans aligned with organizational needs and budgets.
General:
- Housekeeping must be in accordance to Dis-Chem standards. Make sure that your work station is always clean and tidy.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem Uniform and personal appearance policy.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general comfort with digital systems.
