BASIC SALARY R 222 423.00 – R 277 776.36 per annum

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 10 or equivalent;
• Valid Driver’s License (Code EC1 with PDP); and
• 1-year relevant work experience.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

• Drive and maintain tractors and other equipment;
• Operate tractors safely and efficiently;
• Inspect tractors and attachments, such as graders and Plows, and ensure they are well-lubricated;
• Use tractors to transport materials and manoeuvre equipment;
• Use tractors with laser levelling equipment to prepare fields;
• Report any issues or concerns to the Manager and other relevant staff;
• Stay alert while driving and maintaining the tractor, and always follow speed limits;
• Perform minor repairs on tractors and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performing pre-trip inspections to identify possible defects and failures and completing inspection sheets to report on vehicle condition;
• Monitoring vehicle performance and function to identify possible defects and failures;
• Operate vehicle in accordance with road traffic rules and prescriptions, under safe conditions and using vehicle for official purposes only;
• Performs limited supervisory duties over general workers from time to time when they are allocated to the driver for a specific task, and as instructed by supervisor;
• Pre site inspection prior to the commencement of every task.
