About the Role

This high-RPM support role ensures the technical reliability of clinical facilities by managing maintenance data and assisting with the 100% compliant upkeep of hospital infrastructure. Utilizing ServiceNow for facility incident tracking and SAP for resource orchestration, the aid helps minimize operational risk in healthcare environments. Their work supports the structural integrity of the public health system, ensuring that critical equipment and wards remain operational for patient safety.

  • Appropriate maintenance and repairs.
  • Code 8/ EB driver’s license. Physically fit to do manual labour. Willingness to work after hours and overtime. Hand sanding, varnishing and stripping skills. Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Delivery, collection and transportation of items and equipment and other facilities. Assist with day-to-day repairs, installations, alterations and daily maintenance checks including emergency work. Assist with refurbishment and restoration of furniture. Cleaning of workshops, plant rooms, control tools, materials and equipment.
  • Grade 10 or equivalent certificate.
  • Knowledge of maintenance tools, machinery and equipment. Good interpersonal skills.
  • Shortlisted candidates may be subjected to a practical test.
  • R 163 680 – R 192 810 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).

Career Growth & Education

Entry requires a Grade 10 or equivalent, but rapid career growth is possible by pursuing a formal Trade Test in plumbing, electrical, or mechanical engineering. Enrolling in vocational bootcamps and technical colleges provides a professional pathway toward becoming a qualified Artisan or Maintenance Foreman.
