Transport Controller needed at Woodlands Dairy

Job Description

• We are looking for an experienced Transport Controller who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the efficient movement of goods, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective deliveries. Working across the warehousing and transport business units, and in close collaboration with internal departments.

Key Performance Areas:

• Plan and optimize primary and secondary distribution routes and truck loading slots
• Monitor and track shipments using Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
• Liaise with transport service providers, internal departments, and customers
• Analyse and improve Retail On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) KPI performance
• Investigate and resolve delays, damages, pallet discrepancies (CHEP/GLS)
• Verify transporter invoices, rates, POs, PODs and prepare payment bundles
• Support implementation of TMS and KENAI systems
• Oversee on-site truck marshalling and loading priority
• Enforce health & safety compliance standards

Knowledge and Skills:

• Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Transport Management, or Supply Chain OR Matric with at least 4 years’ relevant experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Microsoft 365
• Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with transportation software and KPI analysis
• Shift work will be required for this position
