Key Accountabilities
Execution of customer sales orders and direct deliveries as per customer service level agreement
- Ensure that all customer orders are released as per delivery schedule
- Liaise with supervisor of bin replenishment requirements
- Generate SAP download for all customer orders released • for Unitrans to plan next day deliveries
- Communicate any order cancellations with the relevant parties
- Liaise with CSU regarding special requirements i.e future orders to be released and dispatch to meet customer service levels
UB orders, Customer direct deliveries & transitional warehouse
- Execute UB orders for depot replenishments of all goods required
- Ensure optimum utilization of loads when processing and coordination of delivery dates
- Liaise with planning regarding daily replenishment top ups
- Execute direct delivery customer orders in all regions and transitional warehouses
- Coordinate information flows from the orders to be picked and consolidation of deliveries
- Liaise with customers regarding delivery estimated time of arrival
- Liaise with cross dock facilities regarding goods in transit and customer en route
Transport planning
- Book vehicles in line with daily tonnage for depot replenishments and customer orders
- Liaise with transporters regarding daily vehicle requirements
- Advise supervisor of total number of loads to be dispatched for the day and hauliers booked
- Ensure most cost effective stock movement by prioritizing lower cost transporters
- Accurately track line haul costs for all destinations and forward to DC’s at month end. (split analysis and cost to serve)
- Update vehicle status tracker daily
Goods in transit
- Update goods in transit report and share with all receiving points
- Analyze transit report and escalate discrepancies with Logistics manager
- Investigate and escalate in transit discrepancies with the sending DC’s
Customer Route Masterdata
- Update routes to new Customers
- Update and verify that routes are allocated correctly to Customers
Carry out Administrative duties
- General house-keeping
- Partake in cycle counts
- Partake in stock takes
- Update and send KPI reports
- Receipt transporter invoices on SRM and scan to India for payments
Support Safety, Health & environment Initiatives
- Support ISO 9001 and 14001
- Ensure that the correct work instruction exists for any tasks carried out
Requirements
- Grade 12 education, Diploma in Logistics will be preferred
- Relevant experience as Transport Planner in Supply Chain environment
