About the Role

  • The TravelHub Team Lead is responsible for leading and guiding the Sales Team (ZA & NG markets) to ensure excellent customer service, drive SLA adherence, and optimise operational sales processes. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, improving team efficiency, and providing training and guidance as a subject matter expert.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Sales Performance
  • Set and monitor sales targets (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • Achieve 95% on-time ticketing (B2B & B2C).
  • Improve sales conversion rates and reduce errors.
  • Monitor and reduce sick leave in the team.
  • Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement
  • Optimise sales quotation processes.
  • Ensure effective communication and cooperation across teams.
  • Track and improve productivity metrics.
  • Quality Control & Compliance
  • Maintain high communication standards (verbal & written).
  • Ensure adherence to airline fare rules and ticketing accuracy.
  • Provide accurate quotations for amendments/cancellations
  • Strengthen supplier relationships.
  • Coaching & Performance Management
  • Identify training needs and implement performance improvement plans
  • Support team development through coaching and mentorship.
  • Regularly review and refine work processes for efficiency.

Required Skills & Competencies
Functional Competencies:

  • Expertise in Amadeus & fare rules.
  • Strong knowledge of travel industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, G-Suite, and customer management systems.
  • Understanding of relevant regulations (POPI Act, Consumer Protection Act).

Behavioural Competencies:

  • Sales-driven mindset with strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service orientation.
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and adaptability.
  • Ability to motivate and collaborate within a team.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Leadership: 2+ years in a leadership role (preferably in travel & sales).
  • Industry: 6+ years in the travel industry.
  • Management: Middle management experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Amadeus expertise and understanding of fare rules.
  • Education: Grade 12 (Tertiary qualification advantageous).
